- Our district appreciates and has taken advantage of the LETRS training provided by the WDE by training all of our K-5 staff. We look forward to continued Early Literacy PD opportunities offered by the WDE, and we are aware of the WY Education PD Portal. We’ll continue to monitor the portal for future PD opportunities, particularly those related to K-3 Early Literacy.
- January 2025: SCSD #9 had a SOR trainer (Tami Beebe-Schwartz) provide an inservice to all K-3 instructional and support staff on the topic of UFLI (University of Florida Literacy Institute) phonics instruction and research-based Science of Reading best practices.

These staff members will continue to receive instruction from Megan Kershner, our LETRS* Trainer, regarding essential literacy knowledge. They have received 1.5 hours to date and will receive the remaining 2 hours during the 23-24 school year. |
All K-3 teachers but one have completed LETRS* training. Our remaining teacher has completed the first half of LETRS* training and is on track to complete the program by the end of the school year. (10.5 hours required and completed). The building principal has completed LETRS* as well. |
All K-3 Interventionists with the exception of two have completed LETRS* training. The final two Specialists will begin LETRS* in January of 2024. The building principal has completed LETRS* as well. |
